Although Jimmy had performed at
the club in the 1970s (with Equinox, Bluestone Edge and ATS), Jimmy and Val
first played here as jiva in January 2004.

|
jiva perform a gentle blend of acoustic guitars and vocal
harmony, writing much of their own material. Their musical tastes include the
likes of Allan Taylor, Melanie (yes, the original) Safka, Anthony John Clarke, Show of Hands, James
Taylor and Ralph McTell.
In addition they design websites (jiva,
Ashington
Folk Club,
The Bridge Folk Club,
Chillingham
Folk Club) and have done a fine makeover of the Cramlington site too. They also record other local musicians, designing and
producing CD labels, inserts, artwork, etc. Phew! Busy busy busy.
