Peter Meek

At the club since 2007

Brought up on silly song and Geordie classics as interpreted by my father.

Got my first real six string in the summer of '69.

Discovered James Taylor, Ralph McTell, Allan Taylor and Fairport Convention in the early '70s and from then the list is endless.

Love to play songs that have some meaning and pleasant tunes. Like to find that little known song that has something special.

Club Quotes

  • Wide ranging repertoire (who else would sing Tom Lehrer songs!), interestingly unpredictable...
  • Finds some good songs to sing...
  • Peter sings with feeling and means every word. Keep it up...
  • Man with a red guitar (or is that Anthony John Clarke?)...
  • Great selection of songs. Clever picker...
  • A thoughtful exponent of songs old and new. Peter has a wide repertoire of interesting numbers which he accompanies well on his guitar...
  • Great on north east geography! Another Paxton fan and John Prine. He is a bit of a Peter Pan. Plays guitar...
