Terry Fletcher

Playing at Cramlington Folk Club since circa 1992.

I like all styles of music. Keith Taylor once said "Music is like a diamond - it has many facets". I think he was having one of his Zen moments. But it's true and anything melodic appeals to me.

If I have a particular favourite it is the singer/songwriter and the more miserable the song the happier I am! Some of my favourite musicians (in no particular order) are: Loudon Wainwright, Ron Sexsmith, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, Gretchen Peters, Ewen Carruthers and Pete Scott. To me lyrics are the key to a good song and all of these are superb lyricists as well as great songwriters.

Since attending Pete Scott's song writing workshops I have started to write and perform my own songs. As well as being a resident at Cramlington Folk club I also play in the duo Los Twangeros with Sean Taylor.
