Tonight was a singers night and, although quieter than last week, there was a good crop of regular performers.

Allan Savage got proceedings underway with three Scottish songs and he was followed by John Redpath and Gerry Tapscott who sang two songs, one of which, ‘Mayfield Morning’ was written by John. For their third song they were joined by John Baston on harmonica. Ken Cross was next and sang a Tom Paxton song, a Welsh song and an Irish song! By now the ‘Cramlington choir’ were warming up nicely in time for jiva who sang three of their own compositions. Dave & John finished the first half with three songs. One of them, ‘Ponies’, was a request but they didn’t say for whom!

There was a short break and the raffle (won by jiva). Moving swiftly on Keith introduced John Campbell who impressed us all with his blues slide guitar playing. Dave Anderson was next with two of his own songs and the ever popular Ewan Carruthers song ‘Little Bit Of Me’. He was followed by Esther Marshall who delighted us with her fine voice and gentle guitar playing. Terry Fletcher was next and managed a few laughs and giggles with his jokes. He then sang a Ewan Carruthers song, a James Taylor song and then 'Rubinstein Remembers', a firm club favourite. The whole room was swelling gently with the ‘la la’s’ at the end. Lovely.

Then Keith Taylor surprised Allan Savage by having him return to finish off the night with two Scottish songs in honour of St. Andrews Day.
