There were a few regulars missing this evening but still masses of good entertainment and fun.

Jimmy & Carol kicked off the evening (aided by Allan Savage on banjo and Peter Cook on guitar). They sang ‘The Last Letter Home’, ‘My Pony’ and ‘Matthew’ - all good singalong songs which had everyone joining in. Peter Cook stayed on stage for his own turn with songs by Garth Brooks and Billy Mitchell. He finished with the well known Tim Hardin song 'Reason To Believe' which had the audience again joining in. Peter also got the biggest applause of the night - for managing to erect the music stand! Next was Dave Anderson who did the Dougie McLean song 'She Loves Me' which he followed with 'Just Good Friends' (we think it’s one of his own) - you could almost hear a pin drop! Finally he sang one of the Club favourites - 'Caledonia'. Then it was jiva who sang Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice', Melanie's 'Freedom Knows My Name' and finished with the Emerson Lake & Palmer song 'Lucky Man'. There was some great joining in. Following on to close the first half was Jim (for a change wearing sensible brown shoes!). He sang two of his own songs ‘Dad’ and ‘Landmarks’ and finished with ‘Don’t Stop Breathing’.

Then it was time for a short break and long raffle! (as Keith put it).

Starting the second half was John Campbell in fine form, treating us to three blues songs with clever lyrics in 'He's Got A Way With Women'. Next up were John and Dave mixing traditional (‘Blackleg Miner’) with John Denver (‘Looking For Space’) and the Beatles (‘I Will’). Esther was without guitar tonight and sang two lovely unaccompanied songs, ‘I Love My Love’ and ‘Loving Hannah’. John Redpath gave fine renditions of ‘Diddy Wah Diddy’, ‘Aviational Coward’ and the instrumental ‘Naked Ladies Electric Ragtime’. Then Allan Savage, accompanied by Jimmy on double bass, sang ‘Dark As A Dungeon’, ‘Holy Ground’ - Carol joining in with the tambourine for this one - and finished his set with ‘Earl O’Murray’.

To round off the evening Jimmy & Carol came back on, accompanied this time by Allan Savage, Peter Cook, John Redpath and John Baston (The Soggy Mountain Boys as Keith called them). They sang Donovan’s ‘Colours’ and finished the night with ‘Man Of Constant Sorrow’ from the film ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’.

And again, thanks to John and Dave on the sound.
