Dave got proceedings underway with three fine self-penned songs. He sang a new song which he had written for Esther, then 'When We Were Young' and his song about the beauty of Northumberland called... 'Northumberland'! John & Gerry sang the Richard Thompson song 'When I Get To The Border, 'Ship Of Fools' (penned by John) and another Richard Thompson song 'Walk On The Wire'.

Then it was time for the first set from the guest, all the way from France, who launched straight into a great instrumental leading into the song 'Summertime'. He then played 'Travelling Man', again with a mixture of instrumental and song. He followed this with a French tune 'Dimanche' which had Allan Savage eagerly joining in with the whistling, then 'I See Your Face'. He finished with 'How To Stretch It', quite apt considering it stretched for over 10 minutes.

Dave Anderson came back to start the second half with two more songs of his own, 'Another Time Or Place' - a song about the evil of drink, and 'Yesterday'. Then John & Gerry returned to sing the Allan Taylor song 'Chimes At Midnight' and Ewan Carruther's 'Lord Have Mercy'.

The final set from Claude again had us all amazed at his great style and versatility. He played an instrumental French tune and then 'Don't Know What The Lord Told Me' which included, among others, Rodrigo's guitar concerto de Aranjuez, 'Hall Of The Mountain King', 'La Marseillaise' played entirely using harmonics. For his encore he played 'Hesitation Blues' - underlining his undoubted guitar talents.

Thanks went to John and Dave on the sound.
