Guest: Steve and Kristi Nebel

Support: John and Dave
Support: John Redpath

This evening saw the return of singer/songwriters Steve and Kristi Nebel to the club. They are from the West Coast of America and were just coming to the end of a tour in this country. Keith was delighted to welcome them back.

Steve plays the guitar while Kristi accompanies on bass guitar. They both sing, solo and in harmony. They sing about their personal experiences, their travels, events, reminiscences, the people they have met along the way, the places they have been. Their songs describe the extremes of nature: the harshness of winter, the snows, the power of the sea, and man's hardship: the fisherman, the miner, the railway worker.

I particularly liked the compelling tunes and the frequent repetitions and choruses which characterised most of their songs. All delivered in a strong, driving upbeat style and sung with conviction, from the heart. A great night's entertainment! I'm sure they'll be back!

We also had two great supporting spots who thoroughly warmed the audience up with good singable songs familiar to regulars at the club: Dave and J(Hank)R with their good humour and easy style, and John Redpath with his own personal take on life - his life, that is! Keith described John as 'the one and only'... As you know, Keith, we are ALL unique individuals with our own unique perception... Not only did these residents perform, but they also managed the sound for the night, so thanks for that as well... is there no limit...?
