Ian was in fine fettle Tuesday night at Cramlington Folk Club. The Hind resounded to some great chorus singing from his first song, 'Too Far From She' to his encore 'The Ghost Of The Chair' (the lighthouse song). Along the way Ian included many club favourites like 'The Touch And The Go', 'The Anchor Line', and many more and some fine newer songs and, of course, the odd Burns song.

There was quite a lot of banter from our usual suspects and I think that Ian came out on top with Terry and Allan not too far behind. To a few in the audience this was the first time they had seen or heard Ian Bruce and they and every one were thrilled by the quality of the performance. It was pleasing to see the room so full and that some had travelled a fair distance to be there .

If you haven’t managed to see Ian Bruce before check his web site www.ianbruce.org and if there is a performance nearby get yourself along - you will not be disappointed.

The night was ably supported by Ken Cross, Davy Page & John Richardson. John and Davy, with a little help from Dr Mike, handled the sound. But the star of the night was undoubtedly Ian Bruce closely followed by his great shirt which, according to Terry, made a few in the front sneeze.

But thanks again to Ian Bruce - it proved to be a magic night and we all look forward to the next time.
